Who you are buying from

Viter is made and published by Yurii Shunkin, an individual entrepreneur registered in Lviv, Ukraine (“we”, “us”). Using the app or buying a licence means you accept these terms.

Orders are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on the transaction: they take the payment, charge any applicable tax, issue the invoice, and appear on your card statement. Their buyer terms apply to the sale itself alongside these terms. We never receive or store your card details.

What a licence gives you

Monitoring is free forever and needs no licence. Viter Pro unlocks fan curves, held speeds, custom presets, sensor rules, custom History charts and local control from Shortcuts, scripts and the command line.

• A personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Viter Pro on one Mac you own or control. You may move the licence to another machine; you may not share the key publicly or resell it.
• Subscription (monthly or yearly) — access continues while the subscription is active, and always tracks the newest version of Viter, including major versions.
• One-time licence — yours to keep. It includes every update to Viter 1 and keeps working indefinitely. A future Viter 2 is a separate purchase; you are never forced to upgrade, and Viter 1 does not stop working when it arrives.

You keep the licence; we keep the copyright. Nothing here transfers ownership of the software.

Refunds and cancellation

Refunds are issued by Paddle to your original payment method. Request one by replying to the receipt Paddle emailed you, through paddle.net, or by writing to support@viter.app and we will arrange it. Money usually lands back within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.

Cancelling a subscription. Cancel any time from Settings › Licence › Manage in the app, from Paddle’s billing portal, or from the link in your Paddle receipt. Cancellation stops the next renewal; Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate part-months, and we do not require you to contact anyone to cancel.

Refunding a licence ends the access it granted, and the key stops activating new Macs.

Price, tax and renewals

Prices are shown on the pricing page in your local currency where we support one, and include any tax Paddle is required to charge for your location. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose until cancelled. If a price changes, the new price applies to renewals after we have told you, never retroactively.

What Viter does to your Mac, and what it will not do

Viter writes fan speeds through the System Management Controller. That is a real hardware control, so the limits are worth stating plainly rather than burying:

• Viter never commands a fan below the manufacturer’s minimum. If a curve enters the grey band below it, Viter releases that fan to macOS instead of forcing an impossible target; macOS may stop it until the curve rises again.
• Above 98 °C, Viter hands every fan back to macOS automatically and tells you it did.
• Fan control requires a privileged helper. Decline it and Viter keeps working as a monitor and says so — it never pretends a write succeeded.

That said, running fans differently from Apple’s defaults is your decision. Sustained low speeds can let a machine run hotter than Apple intended, and sustained high speeds wear bearings faster. You are responsible for the settings you apply. We are not liable for hardware damage, thermal throttling, data loss or downtime resulting from configurations you choose, nor for any effect on your Apple warranty or AppleCare coverage.

Fair use

Please do not reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app, remove or work around the licence check, use a key on more than one Mac at a time, or use Viter where doing so would break the law. We may revoke a licence used this way, but we will contact you before revoking one for an apparent mistake.

Availability and support

The licence service at viter.app is needed to activate a key and to re-check it periodically. Viter keeps working offline for fourteen days between checks, so a brief outage does not lock you out of software you paid for. We aim to keep the service up but do not promise a specific uptime.

Support is by email, answered by a human. Response times are best-effort, usually within a couple of business days.

Warranty and liability

Viter is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and our total liability for any claim relating to Viter is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud — and nothing here affects the statutory rights of consumers, which sit alongside the refund policy above.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to a purchase you have already made.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, and disputes are subject to its courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.
